About Joey & Jon

Jon, our head chef, has over 25 years of experience in the kitchen. Over those 25 years Jon has mastered most jobs in and around restaurant kitchens, markets and banquets.

When Covid-19 shut down much of the community Jon, like many others, unfortunately found himself laid off. While getting coffee one day at one of he and Joey’s favorite coffee shops, he saw a for rent sign in the window next door. It was that day when his dream to one day own his own deli and market turned from a dream into a plan. Taking an unfortunate situation and turning it into an opportunity, Jon put his plan into action and Joey’s was born.

Joey’s is named after his best friend and one true love, “Joey” or Joanna whom he met while marathon training. Since meeting they have traversed many races together, including half marathons, marathons, a 50k and Jon even ran a 50 mile run! Jon and Joey are also avid cross-fitters and share a passion for cooking and eating delicious, nutritious food. Ok, Joey doesn’t cook ANYTHING…but she definitely has a passion for eating chef Jon’s nutritious and delicious food.

At Joey’s we believe in community and you will see local representation both in the products we sell and in the food we serve you. We can’t wait to meet and get to know all our customers by name.
